Aug. 16
On-Campus Housing Move-In Begins for International Students
- Reserve housing prior to travel. If you need help completing the on-campus housing application, contact housing@uidaho.edu.
- There is a limited-service shuttle running between University of Idaho and the Moscow-Pullman Regional Airport (PUW). Complete the form to request pick-up from the PUW airport.
- If you arrive before August 16, 2023, the day that on-campus housing opens for move-in, plan carefully and make hotel reservations early.
Aug. 17
ALCP: ALCP Placement Testing and ALCP Class Registration
- American Language and Culture Students are required to attend this testing and registration session. For more details or to schedule your placement testing, email Christine Slater at cslater@uidaho.edu.
Undergraduate International Students: New Student Orientation
- Sign up for New Student Orientation. See the schedule for more details on locations and times.
Graduate International Students
- College of Graduate Studies: Online orientation. All new graduate students will automatically be added to the orientation course. A notification will be sent prior to the beginning of the semester. View further details on the College of Graduate Studies website.
- Departmental Specific Orientation: A notification will be sent prior to the beginning of the semester. You are also encouraged to email your academic program for more details. Please find contact information on the Graduate Admissions website.

All international students are required to attend the mandatory immigration check-in and international student orientation sessions below.

Students attending U of I’s extension campuses (Boise, Idaho Falls, Coeur d’Alene, etc.) will be required to attend an Online International Student Orientation. Online orientation details will be emailed to students in January.
Jan. 11, 2023: Spring 2023 Semester Begins — First day of classes

Please note that the University of Idaho is closed from Dec. 23, 2022 through Jan. 2, 2023 and many staff and faculty may not return to the office until Jan. 4 or after. Do as much advance planning as possible.
