University of Idaho and Student Alumni Relations Board (SArb) are excited to have our Vandal families on campus. SArb is a student organization that partners with campus and community groups to offer events and programming that encourages students to have a positive and full university experience.

Schedule of Events

Friday, Oct. 27

3:30–5 p.m. — Tradition Keepers
Share University of Idaho traditions with your family! Pick up a Tradition Keeper checklist inside the Idaho Student Union Building (across the hall from the Cedar Grove Lounge) and begin your walk around campus. Take pictures of all the checklist items you complete. Complete 15 to receive a pin and 30 to receive a medallion. At graduation you can wear your Tradition Keeper pin or medallion with pride. This event is free.

5–8 p.m. — Beer and Cider Tasting
Come sample some Beer and Ciders with your students at the Best Western University Inn. Everyone is welcome to attend, water and soda will also be available. Appetizers included with ticket. Cost: $25 per person 21+, $10 per person for non-drinkers.

Saturday, Oct. 28

7:30 a.m. (Departure) — Parent and Family Weekend Day Hike
Hike this National Natural Landmark and enjoy panoramic views of the Palouse in autumn with the Outdoor Program and other families. Group will depart early morning and be back in time for tailgating festivities. Register in-person at the Outdoor Program Office in the Student Rec Center. There is a required pre-trip meeting at 5:30 p.m. on October 26. Space is limited, sign up ASAP!

Cost for students/families is $20.

10 a.m. — Cornhole Tournament
The tournament is single elimination and will be held close to the Vandal Tailgate location, where food trucks and beverages are available! Get bragging rights for the entire year! Cost: $10 per team.

11 a.m. — Tailgate/Vandal Village Opens
The official Vandal Tailgate is located right in front of the new ICCU Arena. There is food by local vendors, music, performances, a visit by the Sound of Idaho Marching Band and Vandal Spirit Squad, giveaways, games for kids and more! Vandal Tailgate opens two hours prior to kickoff. Stop by and get your complimentary tailgate cup. This event is free, family-friendly and open to all.

1 p.m. — Vandal Football vs. Montana State
Get your game day tickets through the Vandal Ticket Office.

5:30 p.m. — Dinner in Alumni Club Room
We will have dinner you can take with you, or you can chill and enjoy on site with game boards and other activities. Cost: $20 per person.

6 p.m. — Vandal Volleyball vs. Weber State
Come support your Women's Volleyball team against Weber State in the Memorial Gym.

Parents and family members can access the Student Rec Center (only those over the age of 18) or Climbing Center (youth are welcome when accompanied by an adult) with their U of I student for free during Parent and Family Weekend, Oct. 27-29. Visit the Info Desk in the Student Rec Center for access.
