High School Mathematics Competition at the University of Idaho
Get ready for the 3rd Annual High School Mathematics Competition at the University of Idaho!
When? Monday, March 18, 2024
Where? University of Idaho campus in Moscow, Idaho
Schedule? Check-in will begin at 8:00 am and the awards ceremony will end by 4:00 pm.
Cost? There is no cost to register a team. This is a free competition!
What is the competition? Teams of two to four students will compete against other teams within their selected division. Teams can be composed of students from different schools. All high school students are invited to participate. Schools are allowed up to two teams - one from each division. If you are interested in entering more than two teams, let us know and we will contact you if space remains when the initial registration window closes.

Prizes

Competition Divisions
Division I: Using high school curriculum up to 10th grade, including Algebra I and Geometry.
Division II: Using the entire high school curriculum, including Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Calculus.

We will provide free food throughout the day for all participants and teachers. Everyone is welcome to grab food (breakfast, lunch, snacks) elsewhere (in the ISUB or in town), but with the tight schedule we will provide food to help ease some stress!
Parking passes are required on the University of Idaho campus. Up to five visitor parking passes will be provided for each registered team, free of charge. The number of passes needed can be indicated on the online team registration form.
Additional parking passes can be purchased from Parking and Transportation Services. Cost for Visitor Permits is $3 per day.
There are several lodging options within Moscow. Teams who plan to spend the night are responsible for their own lodging accommodations.

These problems were used for AMC (American Mathematics Competition) in the past. In addition to the included practice problems, we also encourage interested participants to visit the listed websites to prepare for the math competition.
