Take-All Disease of Wheat in Idaho
BUL1029
July 1, 2022
Take-all is a highly destructive fungal disease of cereals whose ability to infect multiple plant parts often results in a crop’s complete destruction. Mainly found in wheat, barley, rye and sometimes oats, the pathogen is most active in northern and eastern Idaho and the Snake River Plain. This five-page bulletin will help growers learn how to discourage its spread by discussing the symptoms of an outbreak, the pathogen’s disease cycle and preventive management strategies. Full-color photography provides examples of afflicted plants and resource readings offer more specialized information.
