Trap Shooting Club

The Trap Shooting Club participates in competitive and recreational shooting. Disciplines include trap singles, trap doubles, skeet and sporting clays.

The group participates at local gun clubs — Troy Deary Gun Club and Colton Gun Club — as part of the Camas Prairie 10-week shoot. The club also sends members to ACUI/SCTP regional and national competitions. Members also enjoy local fun shoots such as the Troy Deary Turkey shoot and Colton Sausage Shoot, both in November.

University of Idaho students are welcome to participate, regardless of skill level; however, prior shotgun shooting experience and knowledge of safe firearms handling is required. Completion of a Hunter's Education program is highly encouraged. Team members are required to have their own shotgun (12-gauge preferred), which can be stored securely at the Office of Public Safety and Security by calling 208-882-COPS. Annual club dues are $200 per person and are gathered each September.
