Spend the day outdoors learning and exploring on the shores of Payette Lake. Throughout the summer kiddos explore the outdoors, play games, make crafts, hike, swim, and make new friendships. Students will use their five senses and tools to learn more about the world around them. Topics will complement the nature play and summertime adventures that kiddos love while practicing social and emotional skills.
This summer there will be an overarching theme of exploring the role of Water. Each week will have different activities and topics to explore related to water to provide variety and maintain continuity throughout the program. Every day we will try to incorporate; a game, song, art activity, book, adventure in the park, free play, science activity, and swimming* when it’s warm enough, usually around the first week in July. Some example water explorations for older students include water characteristic data collection, watershed address, and water impacts on the landscape.
Student groups are generally split by age. The age groupings that we try for are:
- 3-5 years
- 6-7 years
- 8-9 years
Dates:
June 12 - August 4, 2023.
Monday - Friday (Closed June 19 and July 4)
Program option: Drop off 8:45-9 a.m.; pick up 4 p.m.
Extended hours add on: 7:45-9 a.m.; pick up 4-5 p.m.

We know that MOSS experiences benefit students of all backgrounds, and this year we are prioritizing students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend due to financial constraints
- On Feb. 1, registration will open for those who qualify for ANY scholarship.
- On March 1, registration will be open to all.

Payment Process
- Online payment platform- U of I Marketplace (please check your email for an autoreply receipt)
Payments can be made prior to the program, or day-of participation. We will begin to take payments a few weeks from the start of the program, after June 1. Until that time, your reservation is safe and we will contact everyone when payment is open.

Frequently Asked Questions
8 kiddos to 1 adult
Backpack with everything they need to be comfortable for a full day.
- Layers- long sleeves, rain jacket, extra socks (Full change of clothes is recommended if they are less than 5 years old)
- Lunch, water bottle, am and pm snack (please avoid peanut ingredients)
- Swimsuit and towel if the weather is warm
- Optional: Sunblock, bug spray, medications (inhaler, epi-pens, etc)
- Optional: Favorite book to read
MOSS is located inside of Ponderosa State Park PSP so we are fortunate to have the park as our playground. We will also canoe to the day use beach in PSP or over the McCall City Brown’s Park and back.
The program will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Extended drop off is between 7:45 - 9 a.m. and pick up is between 4 - 5 p.m., depending of your selection. (See the Parent Informational Packet to learn more).
