Food for Finals

We are officially t-minus two days until finals week and life is officially overwhelming. For most of us it means we are doing our final bit of cramming before our exams. For some, it means that moving out is just before you. For others it's the last moments before seeing family and loved ones. Maybe one of these situations resonates with you, or maybe they don’t. But no matter where you are at, know that making it to this point in the semester is a feat worth being proud of. So, take a second now to take one final deep breath and give yourself a pat on the back.

The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) is dedicated to our students' success and wants to do all they can to alleviate stress during finals. I think many of us can agree that it’s hard to take care of ourselves during finals. To find a second to eat, relax or even just simply do something that we enjoy.

Each year during finals, CALS provides Foods for Finals, where any CALS student can come get a free breakfast or lunch. I love this offer because I find it so necessary for students. Nutrition can play such an integral role in our success. It helps us stay rejuvenated, focused and gives us the strength to keep pushing on.

This semester they are offering a breakfast and lunch buffet that is grab and go style. There will be breakfast burritos, fruit, sandwiches, soup, chips, coffee, water and tea each day. The best part of it being buffet style is that you can build your own burrito and sandwich. This is great for students with dietary restrictions. You also know that each day you can eat at least two healthy meals that will set you up for success.

Breakfast will be served from 7-10:30 a.m. Monday-Friday and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Thursday. The buffet will be located in the Agriculture Biotech Interaction Court. There are tables for you to sit at and enjoy your meals or you can take it to go.

As you enter into the weekend, take care of yourself first and foremost, study hard for your exams and don’t worry about your weekly trip to the grocery store. We’ll see you at Food for Finals.
