After living in China, Missouri and Florida, Shiyi finally answered the call of the wild and made the beautiful Pacific Northwest her home. Shiyi loves spending time in the great outdoors, exploring new recipes, books and music. The two pillars of Shiyi’s professional identity involve research and teaching. Her research is driven by the need to improve academic and developmental outcomes for young children, especially for those who are at risk. The courses that Shiyi teaches are also closely related to child development.
